Mary Bowser, former slave of the Van Lew family, infiltrated the Confederacy by working as a servant in the household of Jefferson Davis. Bowser was assumed to be illiterate, and as a black woman was below suspicion. Practically invisible, she was able to listen to conversations between Confederate officials and read sensitive documents, gathering information that she handed over to the Union.
This needs to be a movie. Like, now.
I’d watch this movie.
How is this not a movie?
She is also the classiest lady. Look at that hat. Look at that dress.
This may be the best game in the history of games
And I thought I was addicted to the original game
Yes. All men must die, but we are not men

can we start a club for teenagers who were constantly complimented on their intelligence when they were younger and are now having trouble coping with the realization that they’re actually of average intellect at best
in elementary school i constantly scored as reading at a college level but then i got to college and suddenly everyone’s reading at college level.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN A POST THAT SO ACCURATELY DESCRIBES MY LIFE.
Well sometimes people aren’t reading at college level in college. Some people just don’t read. Half of college isn’t even about being intelligent by the books, its about knowing how to appeal to your professors, how to time manage, how to apply yourself, how to sound good on paper and how to improve your bullshitting skills to godlike levels.
Also: remember that precocious children aren’t necessarily better at things than other people, they’re usually just faster learners. The gap between your abilities and those of your peers may diminish, but the ability to quickly pick up new skills never goes away, and is applicable in any field.
